Hey there, Sun Devils! My name is Brittany Bowyer, and I’ll be the lead reporter for all things ASU-related for PHNX. Working alongside me year-round for this will be Shane Dieffenbach, while long-time hockey writing legend Craig Morgan will be spearheading the coverage on the ice. You’ll probably even hear a bit from some of our other PHNX team members from time-to-time weighing in on the Devils, because we have quite the group!
First, let me tell you a little about the company. At The PHNX, our mission is to bring a sense of community among sports fans by sharing informational news and opinions in a more engaging and entertaining form. Can you count on us to bring you accurate information? Yes. Will we be stiff, dressed head to toe in business professional attire and sound like we are using our news voice on our podcasts? Absolutely not. Will we joke around and also have fun while recording? That, you can guarantee.
Numerous communities represent Arizona State University, aka the “Tempe Ecosystem.” Over the years, those communities have continued to expand and have since stretched far beyond the boundaries of Tempe, not to mention the vast number of alumni scattered across the globe.
Our goal is to create a place to provide a sense of togetherness, regardless of where you call home, while also delivering entertaining news and updates on all things Sun Devils. A place where you feel connected to Tempe and the university, while also being able to interact with other fans.
We’ll be going beyond the major three sports, giving some love to the smaller teams that don’t get much of the spotlight. We’ll also dive into some of the other aspects that make Arizona State so special; the marching band, the spiritline, the 942 Crew and the Inferno, along with various alumni groups and organizations, which all back Arizona State.
We truly want everyone to feel recognized, seen and represented.
As your two go-to people for all things ASU, Shane and I are anxiously awaiting our opportunity to interact with fans! We want to hear your opinions on things, respectfully of course, get your input, and answer your questions. Interaction is the basis of what we’re looking to do! We look forward to seeing viewers, readers out and about in the community, as we hope you’ll introduce yourselves to us. We are always down to talk about ASU!
