I might be crazy but I’ve always thought there was something unique with sophomore quarterback Will Plummer. The big problem with Plummer is obviously turnovers, but in limited action last week you saw a guy who wasn’t afraid to wing it.
Gunner Cruz was a quarterback who was afraid to let the ball go, Plummer isn’t that guy.
Who knows if Plummer is the answer but let’s use this season to find out.
Will Jamarye Joiner break out? The dynamic junior wide receiver was finally cleared last week but saw limited playing time. It will be interesting to see what kind of reps he gets in a game Arizona should win easily.
On the defensive side of the ball who for Arizona is going to step up? Even though there was only one sack against BYU it felt like Arizona was causing pressure for a good percentage of the game. There was none of that against San Diego State. Don Brown talked all off season about his high expectations for pass rusher Jalen Harris.
It’s time for Harris to deliver on those expectations.
Despite being a 23 point underdog, NAU is an interesting squad, possessing one of the better wide receiving units in the nation with three of the leading receivers in school history but that is offset to a certain extent by the uncertainty surrounding who will start at quarterback.
Senior signal caller Keondre Wudtee is the quarterback who possesses the most dynamic potential but due to injuries he’s a game time decision which means redshirt freshman Jeff Widener might be taking the snaps.
Considering the skill position talent the Lumberjacks possess, it would be wise for Arizona not to take NAU lightly
The other impressive part about NAU is that the kicker, punter and long snapper are all conference caliber players.
All that typed, this is a game where the Cats should roll.
NAU has talent and Arizona is on a 14 losing streak but if the Cats lose this game I’m not sure where Arizona goes from there.
