Back in November, PHNX Sports introduced you to Heidi’s Village, a full service animal shelter that offers a safe harbor to dogs and cats from rescue groups all over Arizona.

Periodically, we will be highlighting some of the animals that need good homes. 

The final three dogs were are featuring in this round of profiles are Georgia, Eva and Zazu.

 

Georgia, 2, is adoptable through Adopt A Dog Rescue. She was found as a stray with significant scars on her face. She has a small hole on the side of her mouth that doesn’t seem to bother her. Georgia has lived with other dogs and is crate trained. 

 

Eva, 2, is adoptable through Better Days Rescue. She was also found as a stray. She is incredibly sweet with a calm demeanor. Not much is known about her past but she knows how to sit and shake.

 

Zazu, 1, is adoptable through Heidi’s Village. She was adopted out of Heidi’s at 3 months old, but was returned due to an altercation with another dog in the home. She has made a lot of progress since returning but Heidi’s Village recommends she be the only dog in the home. With some treats, she immediately becomes your best friend.

Earlier this month, we featured Runt Runt and Raziel, 5-month-old brothers who are adoptable through Heidi’s Village and have been looking for their forever home since March.

Their owners became homeless and although Heidi’s Village tried to get the dogs into a temporary care program to stay with their owners, they made the decision to surrender them. Both dogs are really sweet and playful. Ideally, Heidi’s Village would love to see them placed in a home together, but it is not required.

The first dog we featured at Heidi’s Village was 1½-year-old Ralphie, who is adoptable through the Tuba City Humane Society.

Ralphie wandered into a stranger’s house while they were unloading groceries. When he found his way to the shelter, he arrived covered in mange and missing much of his coat. With good care, he has recovered and is waiting to meet his new family at Heidi’s Village.

Ralphie lived with other dogs and is very sociable. He seems to love everyone. In addition to the Tuba City Humane Society, inquiries can also be made about him at Heidi’s Village by visiting the website, emailing info@heidisvillage.org, or calling (602) 241-4640.

Anyone can walk in to Heidi’s Village and meet the animals during the shelter’s public hours; no appointment necessary. Adoptions are first come, first serve. All adoptable dogs are posted on the website with adoption fees noted.
