It was not without drama, but the Diamondbacks took two out of three from the league-worst Oakland Athletics, notching their eighth series win of the season. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. stayed hot, Christian Walker continues to homer seemingly every day, Corbin Carroll hit a dinger of his own and Ryne Nelson had his best start of the year. Meanwhile, the D-backs made a roster move before game time that included sending down young outfielder Alek Thomas.
