While the Arizona Cardinals continue to make headlines off the field for all the wrong reasons, the football-related news surrounding the club has also been steady here at the NFL Combine. The Jalen Carter situation, which was made public on Wednesday, was something that most teams have known for “some time,” per a source. So while it doesn’t change the…
It was an up and down week for Arizona Cardinals fans, Eno Benjamin was shockingly released on Monday while Zach Ertz was declared out for the season with a knee injury. Some good news came later in the week when Hollywood Brown was designated to return from IR. After Colt McCoy helped lead the Cardinals to victory, is there going…
There’s surely nothing debated more surrounding the Arizona Cardinals than the performance of the team’s offense this season. The hottest topics include the supposed regression of quarterback Kyler Murray along with the vocal words of the Kliff Kingsbury haters who link his play-calling to all the unit’s woes. Those critics conveniently exhibit collective amnesia when it comes to the talking…
If we each had a dollar for all the times that we’ve heard the words focus, execution or rhythm when it pertains to the Cardinals offense in the first three weeks of the season, we’d probably be able to retire. That, of course, is overstating things, but NFL reality is that fast starts and rhythm don’t usually occur unless there’s…...
Regarding Kyler Murray, there is one thing for which there is no debate: Aside from his accuracy and competitiveness, what sets him apart from most quarterbacks is his ability to beat defenses with his legs. Whether it’s with designed runs, avoiding pass rushers or gaining chunks of yards on scramble plays, those instances can change games at any moment. We…...
Some things I hope, some I wonder about and others I just know as the Arizona Cardinals try to rebound from another loss…. I hope… The Cardinals figure out a way to get off to a good offensive start, so we don’t have to continue asking questions about it and getting the same answers. The reality is there’s no magic…...
So much for fast starts. It was more of the same for the Cardinals when Sunday began against the Los Angeles Rams. And even though they made it a game in the second quarter and in the second half, long drives that end in field goals won’t win many games in the NFL, especially against the Rams. Hold the Rams,…...
Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury told Arizona Sports 98.7 FM on Tuesday that the level of play that the Kansa City Chiefs played at was a step above probably what the Cardinals anticipated.
Contrary to many opposing fanbases outside of the Valley, when the pads come on, Kyler Murray is a bonafide superstar at the position. At his best, he's a top five quarterback in football with the capabilities of carrying this once dismal franchise on his modest 5'8 back. Since drafting the former Oklahoma Sooner, Murray has improved both statistically and by wins every year he's been in the NFL. He's also made the Cardinals relevant again, which was something that was greatly missing in the post-Bruce Arians era of Arizona football.
When the Arizona Cardinals opted to sign running back James Conner last spring to a meager one-year deal, it was viewed by most as nothing more than an insurance policy. Insurance that then starter Chase Edmonds would be unable to shoulder a large portion of the workload. Insurance that the club may fail to land one of the draft's top backs in Alabama's Najee Harris or Clemson's Travis Etienne. Insurance that the team may need to tap into Conner's prior days in Pittsburgh as a bellcow rusher capable of scoring touchdowns in bunches.
