The Phoenix Suns face a difficult task of focusing on basketball after the Robert Sarver investigation.

When general manager James Jones, coach Monty Williams and Phoenix Suns players took to the podium for Media Day 2022, the vast majority of the questions they fielded over the next five hours had little to do with basketball itself. In the wake of the NBA’s findings from an investigation into owner Robert Sarver’s pattern of racist, sexist and misogynistic...

Phoenix Suns and Mercury owner Robert Sarver has announced that he has begun the process of selling the teams.

In the wake of the NBA’s investigative findings last week, which confirmed numerous instances of racist, sexist and misogynistic behavior, Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury owner Robert Sarver is finally on the way out. While the league itself failed to hand out any meaningful punishment, resorting to a one-year suspension, $10 million fine and training course for Sarver, pressure from players, the NBPA, at least one major Suns sponsor, the City of Phoenix and public outcry in general may have finally pushed the 60-year-old owner toward a more permanent resolution. In a statement released from Sarver on Cision PR Newswire, he announced that he has begun “the process of seeking buyers for the Suns and Mercury.” https://twitter.com/GeraldBourguet/status/1572624451921129473 Robert Sarver has…

The dominoes are lining up for more severe punishment for Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver.

On Tuesday, the NBA came up embarrassingly short of doling out meaningful consequence for Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver in the wake of an investigation confirming numerous instances of racist, sexist and misogynistic behavior. Over the last three days, everyone else has begun to do their part in forcing the league’s hand toward a more severe punishment. After the NBA’s lenient sentence of a one-year suspension, a $10 million fine and a training course for Sarver, followed by an appalling press conference from commissioner Adam Silver, the onus fell on the players to speak up, on corporate sponsors to pull out and on the Suns’ minority owners to take action. It’s hardly been a flurry of activity on any of…

The NBA's punishment for owner Robert Sarver is nowhere near good enough

On Tuesday morning, the long-awaited findings from the NBA’s independent investigation of Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver were announced. In a 43-page report, the investigation corroborated numerous accounts of Sarver that should have pointed to a pattern of racially-charged, misogynistic behavior. According to the NBA, however, they simply exhibited a “sophomoric” and “awkward” sense of humor unfit for the workplace. That indefensible view is prevalent throughout the NBA’s report. Despite the investigation confirming accounts that Sarver used the N-word at least five times, engaged in inappropriate verbal conduct toward female employees, engaged in inappropriate physical conduct toward male employees and berated employees in a work environment that was described as “harsh,” “demeaning” and “toxic,” the NBA’s punishment is sorely insufficient.…

Phoenix Suns and Mercury owner Robert Sarver has announced that he has begun the process of selling the teams.

The Phoenix Suns played a basketball game Thursday night, and it couldn’t have felt more inconsequential. Not because they beat a 1-6 Houston Rockets team by double figures. Not because it was an early November contest in an 82-game season, and not because it was the exact type of game a Finals-caliber team won’t remember come May or June. No,...

Two of the three essential pieces of the Phoenix Suns’ young core are eligible for extensions, but the clock is ticking. Coming off an unexpected NBA Finals run, both Deandre Ayton and Mikal Bridges have earned big paydays. The Western Conference remains wide open. The path to the franchise’s first championship is in sight. And yet, the Suns continue to...
